About Rob

Rob van Os is a cyber security professional with extensive experience in cyber defense and security operations. Rob has played various roles over the years, including SIEM consultant, security architect, security specialist and is now product owner of the Cyber Defense Center of de Volksbank.

Rob is analytically strong and has in-depth knowledge of the theoretical background as well as practical experience within SOC. With the combination of both Rob can support the students in both theory and practice. Rob is one of the teachers of the SOC course.

In recent years, Rob has specialized in the various aspects of security operations. As chairman of the interbank consultations of SOC and CSIRT teams and with the theoretical frameworks and methodologies he has developed, Rob has a very good idea of what is going on within a SOC.

Rob thinks it is important that students in the course acquire the right theoretical baggage, but also relevant hands-on experience and can put this directly into practice in their own SOC.
